A Note on the New Collective Bargaining Agreement
Dear Region IV Ohana,
The new Collective Bargaining Agreement is here, and the pre-ratification briefings have begun. These briefings are invaluable for understanding the CBA, and I strongly encourage everyone to attend if you haven't already.
I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the members of the AVS Bargaining Team. Their dedication, hard work, and perseverance in negotiating this contract are truly commendable. It's important to emphasize that the content of the CBA and the team's contributions are entirely apolitical. This message is not intended to sway opinions but to acknowledge the team's unwavering commitment and the significant challenges they overcame.
While I deeply value their efforts, I want to make it clear that I will not express any personal opinions on the contents of the CBA. My role is to highlight the team's achievements and the integrity of their work, not to influence your perspectives on the agreement.
The Federal Sector presents unique challenges in negotiations, making the achievements of our bargaining team all the more impressive. The team faced these obstacles with resilience and professionalism, and their dedication has been inspiring.
As we move forward, it's essential for all members involved in ratifying the contract to stay informed and engaged. The member education period is an opportunity to learn about the new articles and changes. I encourage you to ask questions, express concerns, and participate in thoughtful discussions before casting your ballots.
Despite the concurrent RVP election and the strong emotions it may evoke, I urge all members to thoroughly review the Tentative Agreement, ask insightful questions, and make informed decisions.
In Solidarity,
Mary
