The Final Word: Where We Go From Here Depends on You
By now, many of you have cast your ballots, reflecting our shared commitment to our union. As the election period draws to a close, I want to share some final thoughts with those who have yet to vote. Your role within our union is not just important—it is indispensable. My unwavering commitment to our union and its members, which I will uphold in every decision I make, is the cornerstone of my candidacy.
The contrast between my campaign and that of my opponent is striking. I have clearly and firmly outlined my vision for our future—where our union thrives through transparency, integrity, and action. My reasons for running are more than words; they are a clear roadmap toward a brighter, more prosperous future for all of us. I’ve shown you who I am—a dedicated advocate for our cause, unafraid to stand up for what is right and to challenge those who threaten our union’s values.
In contrast, my opponent has relied on the comfort of close allies, name recognition, and the hope that voter apathy will carry the day. His platform, filled with recycled content and hollow promises, lacks the substantive vision required for authentic leadership. He touts his role in CBA negotiations, yet when it comes to enforcing the contract, he offers little more than vague assurances, expecting you to trust his so-called “strong relationships” with management. But ask yourself: where are the results? His backroom dealings have not yielded tangible benefits for you, the members. Even his endorsements are recycled, tweaked to remove the one I gave three years ago after publicly sharing the deception with you.
The efforts you’ve seen from both of us to earn your vote are telling. I’ve placed my cards on the table, speaking openly and honestly about my reasons for running. On the other hand, my opponent remains conspicuously silent, allowing his advocates to launch personal attacks while he hides behind the guise of civility. His silence is not a sign of restraint; it’s a calculated tactic to avoid accountability and to obscure the truth. When the Agency attacked our work-life benefits, he employed the same strategy—inaction masked as diplomacy. The true measure of courage is standing up for what is right, no matter the personal cost. We must never shy away from defending our principles. Those who stand for nothing will ultimately fall for anything.
Throughout this campaign, I have endured relentless personal attacks—publicly and privately. Yet, I remain steadfast in my convictions and will not be bullied into silence. If I can withstand such attacks from within, imagine what I can do for you when the real challenges arise. When the Agency comes for us, you need a leader who won’t back down and will fight tirelessly for your rights.
This election is not just a choice between two candidates—it’s a decision about the future of our union and the values we hold dear. I’ve spent nearly two decades standing up for our members, fighting for what’s right. I’ve laid out a clear, actionable vision for a stronger, more united Region IV. Now, I ask you to stand with me as we Chart a New Course together. Let’s build a future where every member’s voice is heard, where transparency and integrity guide our decisions, and where our union is stronger than ever. I am deeply committed to our union and its members, and I pledge to uphold this commitment in every decision. Together, we will make our union a force to be reckoned with.
In Solidarity,
Mary
