Charting a New Course: Ascending with Activism and Advocacy

The time to Chart a New Course has arrived. The upcoming election is not a routine event but a pivotal moment to shape the future of our union. Your vote can bring about meaningful change and pave a brighter path forward together.

I am running for the Regional Vice President (RVP) position because I believe in our union's and its members' potential. Over the past three years, many have felt unheard and unrepresented under passive leadership. Now, more than ever, we must embrace a new direction prioritizing transparency, accountability, and a steadfast commitment to activism and advocacy. Our union deserves leadership that stands firm against injustice and champions the rights of every member.

Despite facing personal attacks and challenges, I have remained resilient. These experiences have only served to strengthen my resolve to defend our collective interests. As your RVP, I will not be swayed by fear tactics or intimidation. Our fight for fairness and equity requires more than negotiations; it demands bold activism and innovative advocacy. We will not settle for the status quo. We will push boundaries and seek new avenues to amplify our voices.

Why is the Agency watching this election? They are watching because they fear our activism under new leadership. The Telework Article and the Agency’s tactics have not changed; our new CBA will not change this. As your RVP, I won’t capitulate. Our tactics in countering the agency require more than the negotiated grievance procedure. As your RVP, I will use every strategy available to counter the Agency’s tactics, including collaborating with members to develop new, innovative ways to address these injustices.

Our National President has set a powerful example through solid messaging, media engagement, and legislative outreach. As a direct result of the National President's activism and advocacy, Region IV’s membership gained new heights.  I pledge to work closely with our National leadership, committees, chapters, and members to use every available platform to ensure that Region IV's concerns are heard loud and clear. We may not have the luxury of direct job action, but we have the strength of our convictions and the support of influential allies. Using novel methods, together, we can make a difference.

My Vision for Our Union

Transparency and Open Communication: Our union's actions should reflect the will and interests of its members. As RVP, I will ensure our interactions with the Agency are transparent, that my words are not misused, that I am not “misquoted,” and that decisions are not made in a vacuum. I will communicate openly about meetings and decisions, refusing to be a spokesperson for management.

Strong Advocacy and Representation: I will vigorously oppose any actions undermining our collective bargaining agreements. Our union deserves a leader who tirelessly advocates for fair policies, better working conditions, and an inclusive environment. I have consistently shown courage and integrity during this election, and I will continue to do so as your advocate.

Empowerment and Unity: Empowering our representatives and members is vital to our union's growth. We will ensure that every voice is valued and heard by fostering a supportive and inclusive community. Together, we will build a stronger, more united union.

Personal Commitment: My journey has been one of unwavering advocacy and dedication to justice, equality, and solidarity. I am running to ensure our union remains a steadfast advocate for all members. The case I’ve presented throughout my campaign reflects the same passion and determination I will bring to this role.
